After drying her hair, Emily got dressed . She looked at her watch . It was 10.00 . It was time to go to the hospital . ‘ Oh dear,’ she thought . ‘ I’m more nervous than I expected .’ Before leaving the house , she had a quick look in the mirror, and then she got into the car . While she was driving to the big, grey hospital, she had a last cigarette . Then she arrived . After parking her car , she went in to reception .

‘ Dr Meadows , please,’ she said .

While she was sitting in the waiting room, she looked at the other people . There were five of them, and they all looked more nervous than she did . After 20 minutes, she heard her name . She stood up and went into Dr Meadows’ room . Dr Meadows was about ten years older than Emily . He smiled .After telling her to sit down, he found her name on his list . Then he looked up .
